Towards A New World

  Hypnotic blues bring my world crashing down

Deep down into a labyrinth of insecurities

Exposed to those who know me

And to those who tend to pry

Those who slowly wear you down

With their tiresome probing chatter

And the bland attempts to undo your mental framework

It took me forever to build up this facade

And in a second it could come crashing down

Leaving me exposed and unable to cope

I start to choke

Become short of breath

A sharp pain inside my head

As my inner consciousness tries to rationalise the impossible

When you feel afraid

There is no point in running for cover

Cos' you face danger from all sides

Paranoia overload takes hold

Secret service agents are on patrol everywhere

Monitoring my thoughts and surveying all my reactions

Try to escape

To break free

Into the great unknown where you can let yourself go

Drift into a semi-conscious trance

And dream your life away

Floating on a cloud of empty dreams and half-made plans

But surely this can all become reality

Turn your mind inside out

And escape the contradictions

Take hold of your future

And make your dreams come true

Its up to you

The future is in your hands if only you could see

The Lord above will guide you to your destiny

Take the first step

And the rest of the journey will begin
